Tea for summer
The fun fact about this tea is that even though it’s iced, it has a warming element too. That’s because it’s ginger, and ginger is always warming to the body. The body loves warmth - hence it’s natural temperature at 98° (give or take).
Recipe, below!
Ingredients for a 64 pitcher of tea (give or take)
4 inch piece of ginger root
2 tbsp of strawberry preserve (the less ingredients, the better)
1.5 lemons
3 tbsp of honey
Water
Optional: Frozen strawberries
Instructions
Begin by boiling the water
While the water is boiling, peel the ginger, using a spoon or a peeler. Then cut into thick pieces.
When the water is boiling, add the ginger pieces. Let boil for about 3-4 minutes, or until the water begins to smell spicy.
Take the water off the heat, and while the ginger tea is still hot add the strawberry preserve, honey, and lemon.
Stir well and let cool. Taste test for any added sweet or sour.
Add to a pitcher when the tea is cool, and let chill in the fridge.
Option to add frozen strawberries when you serve to enjoy.
